FIRST ESCAPE

My name is Patricia and I am an English Woman of a Certain Age who Escaped. I Triumphed against all the odds and now consider myself an expert on Life for Living. My story is unusual, but not unique. If I can accomplish at my age what I have, then so can Anyone. The world has been my Oyster since I decided to Live, or die trying! I have achieved what most women only dream about or see on the screen. I made my Fantasies a Reality, and Dreams a Way of Life. Even now, I look back in amazement - Remembering!

I was Fifteen when I was first raped. Seventeen the second time by the same man and was six months pregnant before I dared to tell my Victorian- minded parents. Within Hours of my disclosure, I was informed I would be going into a Convent to stay with Nun's until my child was born. It was the only way to save the family name. Alone among strangers I had to await the birth which was still three months away. I would be allowed no visitors and told I had to breast feed and take care of my baby until it was two months old - then give it away. I was to be incarcerated on my own for at least five months when I had never been away from home before. I cannot even now, tell of my despair.
Due to circumstances, the mother of the rapist convinced him to marry me.
To keep my child, I agreed.
I thought I was taking the easy way out, I was wrong.
I stayed in a marriage to a man who worshipped me, giving me everything, but nothing. All my life I was suppressed and damaged without ever realising it, until, more than twenty five years later, I ESCAPED.

I never realised, until I fell in love for the first time in my life, that I even had a Past. It then blew up in my face and nearly destroyed me. I had blocked out the trauma and got on with my life, not knowing who I really was, or who I could be. I had never been happy with my husband and had put on a face for the outside world. I lived for my children because they were the only release for my repressed love. As they grew into adults I knew that I wanted more out of life, but only dare to Daydream. It took a while but I got there in the end. Now, when I look in the mirror I like what I see, I like Me as a person. Ok, we would all like to look better, be younger with less lines, but at what Cost. I now have a new life, filled with Love that grows each day. The past, it Happened, and my children and their children, made it all worthwhile.
I always say, what goes around comes around, Life is a Circle!

Never, in a million years did realise what I was capable of achieving - Do You ?
I wanted Excitement, Travel and Romance, to be Desired and Adored, Wined and Dined.
Never Underestimate yourself - It can Happen!

During this transitional period in my life a miracle took place, I discovered I was Artistic and had a Brain. Dormant talents that had never appeared in my past rose to the surface and burst into my life completely unannounced.
I am now an Artist, Poet and a Writer, dividing my time between England, the Caribbean, America and Sweden.

I have written a book, the true story of my life, called First_Escape. At the first writing it was entitled Bitter End. It was originally conceived on board a yacht in the magical Caribbean, amid passion and self - discovery at Bitter End in the Virgin Islands. Originally, I wrote it with the sole idea to give women the courage to Chase their Daydreams and Rainbows, and make them come true. Since then as you can see, Ive widened my horizons. At that time, due to outside pressure, I was forced to re-write it as fiction. Then, as the circumstances of my life and my families changed and progressed, I made the decision to tell the Truth.
The book is in its third and final writing, and to hell with Everyone !
First_Escape is My Life Story, and Im proud to have experienced what so many women only dream about.
